We took a trip to the Davis mountains last weekend; Rachel & I needed a break from the city etc. Rachel visited Marfa with our friend Cheree last year, and I had not been since my parents took me to the Chisos Mountains as an infant.
On a friend's recommendation, we stayed 18 miles outside of Ft Davis in a cabin with a kitchen.
Rachel took me into Marfa to construct a cardboard pinhole camera in an event sponsored by Chinati featuring Adam Davies, large format photographer.
Every courthouse in this area is amazing. This is Presidio County Courthouse in Marfa. My new favorite is the Jeff Davis county courthouse.
We did not want to leave the mountains; we could live there or just write there - so amazing.
